Chinese – Beginners 2

Course structure and goals

The course focuses on correct sentence structures, which provides a solid foundation for speech. In addition to the basic vocabulary acquired in Level A, 450 new words are taught in Beginners B. During classes, students practice the use of the new vocabulary and sentence patterns. Homework assignments are given every week, as well as a list of new words learnt in class. Course texts are written in Pinyin. The class meets once a week and students are required to complete homework assignments sent by the teacher after each lesson.

This course is for

Adult students (over the age of 17) who can conduct a basic conversation in common Chinese, or students who have completed course Level A.

Duration

Spoken Chinese 3: 15 weeks.
Spoken Chinese 4: 15 weeks.

At the end of the course the student will

	Be able to exchange information in simple, day-to-day situations in a more confident and fluent way, maximizing the 850 Chinese words acquired in Beginners A and Beginners B.
	Know how to construct everyday sentences in Chinese.
	Be more confident and fluent with Chinese pronunciation.
	Be able to conduct conversations in everyday situations, using more advanced grammatical structures.
